Interior Design Schools in Philadelphia

Color, lighting, styles of furniture, and architecture combine to make a room attractive and appealing.  An interior designer must have a natural feel for these things, and this natural talent should be strengthened by study.  A bachelor’s degree in this major is considered an entry-level education for interior designers.  In fact, many states require that an interior designer pass a licensing test before he or she can officially start practicing.  In addition to the skills mentioned above, interior designers also need to consider the purpose of the room.  Designers may be hired by individual clients or by businesses and other entities, large and small.  They may work in architectural or design firms, in retail stores, or be self-employed.
